Naked Lunch

Hi,

First little late night blog from HellraiserTen’s  Jacob. While thinking hard about what to write in my first ever blog (yep, never tried it before) I recalled good times in Germany touring with HellraiserTen last year. Playing our last gig in Berlin we hooked up with our German booker, Robert. He introduced me to a great Austrian band called Naked Lunch. I am yet to meet a Danish person who knows this band, so I thought I might take the opportunity to introduce it to you all here on our new site.

Naked Lunch play beautiful noisy popsongs with hints of electronica. They’re actually very much alike The Notwist (a fine German band), but I think that these guys have even better tunes. The songs are so obvious but still the band manages to make arrangements that will keep you listening, digging for details. Also, I really like that the singer is not doing fake British or American English but instead emphasizing his Austrian accent. Good stuff.

Robert gave me three Naked Lunch records when we got home from the gig that night last year and I fell asleep listening to their fantastic songs on a floor, in an apartment, somewhere in Berlin.

Check out following records. They come highly recommended:

Naked Lunch “Song for the Exhausted”

Naked Lunch “This Atom Heart of Ours”

Naked Lunch “Universalove”

Also check out the song “God”

HellraiserTen is recording new songs right now and I must admit that the mentioned records have turned out as a source of inspiration.
